Create Your Business Website

Creating a website for your business is an essential step to establishing an online presence and attracting customers. If you’ve already set up Microsoft 365 for your business, the next logical step is to create a professional website. While there are several platforms like WordPress or Wix that allow you to build websites, we’ll focus on using GoDaddy. This guide assumes you have a domain registered with GoDaddy, which makes setting up your website quick and straightforward.

Step 1: Sign in to GoDaddy

  1. Open GoDaddy’s website and sign in with your credentials.
  2. Once signed in, navigate to the homepage and select Start Shopping.
  3. Under the Websites and Marketing section, choose Start for Free to initiate the website-building process.

Step 2: Set Up Your Website

  1. GoDaddy will prompt you to enter the industry you’re in; this helps to pre-load relevant templates and features suited for your business type.
  2. Input your business name—this will be used as the title of your website.
  3. Click Continue to proceed.

Step 3: Choose a Theme for Your Website

  1. GoDaddy offers a variety of themes that let you customize the appearance of your website.
  2. Select Try a New Look to explore the theme options.
  3. Browse through the available designs and select a theme that best represents your business’s style.
  4. Adjust the theme colors and fonts as needed to align with your brand identity, then select Done.

Step 4: Add Content Sections

Adding sections to your website is essential to provide visitors with relevant information. Here’s how to get started:

  1. Go to Pages and Sections in the website editor.
  2. Choose Add Section to start adding different content blocks to your site.
  3. GoDaddy provides various section categories such as About Us, Services, Contact Form, and Blog. Choose a section that fits your needs.
  4. Select the format you want for each section and click Add.
  5. Adjust your section settings, such as layout, alignment, and background.

You can return to the main page anytime to add, remove, or reorganize sections. For instance, if you want the Blog section to appear above Subscribe, drag it to the desired position.

Step 5: Add Your Business Logo

Adding your logo to the website header helps establish brand recognition:

  1. Select the Header Menu and click on Edit Section.
  2. Under Logo, click Upload to add your business logo.
  3. Find the logo file on your computer, select it, and then choose Insert.
  4. Once the logo appears in the header, adjust its size and placement if necessary.

Step 6: Set Up Your Contact Email

To make it easy for customers to contact you, customize your website’s contact form:

  1. Go to your Contact Info section and locate the Contact Form settings.
  2. Change the email address to your Microsoft 365 business email to receive customer inquiries directly.
  3. Save your changes to ensure messages from your website are delivered to your business inbox.

Step 7: Add Custom Links to Your Navigation

If you want to add links to external resources, such as a link to your Microsoft Teams or another business service, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Header menu and select Site Navigation.
  2. Choose Add Link to external website.
  3. Provide a title for the link, such as Join Microsoft Team, and enter the URL for the link.
  4. Click Create Link to add it to the navigation bar.

This feature allows you to direct users to resources outside your website while keeping them engaged with your business content.

Step 8: Finalize and Publish Your Website

Before you publish your site, make sure all content and settings are correct:

  1. Use GoDaddy’s editor to modify text, images, and other elements to ensure everything aligns with your brand.
  2. Once all edits are complete, go to Settings and confirm that your website is connected to the same domain name you’re using for your Microsoft 365 email.
  3. When you’re ready to make your website live, select Publish. This action will launch your website, making it accessible to your customers and employees.

Benefits of a Business Website with Microsoft 365 and GoDaddy Integration

Using GoDaddy with Microsoft 365 provides several advantages for small businesses:

  • Unified Communication: With your Microsoft 365 email integrated into your contact form, you can manage all customer inquiries from a single inbox.
  • Domain Matching: A professional domain that matches your Microsoft 365 email reinforces brand credibility.
  • Easy Customization: GoDaddy’s website builder offers flexibility with templates and design options to quickly create a polished website without needing design experience.

Creating a business website doesn’t have to be complicated or time-consuming. With GoDaddy’s user-friendly website builder and the integration of Microsoft 365, you can set up a professional website that effectively represents your business online.
